According to the Korea Asset Management Corporation (CAMCO) on the 7th, as of the 30th of last month, the number of applicants for debt restructuring from the New Start Fund was 49,713, and the amount of debt was 7.9575 trillion won.
Through purchase-type debt restructuring, where the New Start Fund purchases bonds and directly adjusts debt, 16,800 people signed an agreement. Their debt principal is 1.3708 trillion won, and the average principal reduction rate is about 70%.
14,776 people confirmed debt restructuring through brokerage-type debt restructuring, which adjusts interest rates and repayment periods without principal reduction. The amount of debt is 942.3 billion won, and the average interest rate reduction is about 4.5%p.
Meanwhile, the New Start Fund is supporting the resurgence of more small business owners and self-employed people by expanding the scope of support to small business owners and self-employed people who conducted business between April 2020 and November 2023.
