Car Inspection Costs
New cars manufactured after 2025 will have to be inspected for the first 5 years
The cost of a regular car inspection is 23,000 won for a small car.
My car is an electric car, so even if it’s older, the comprehensive inspection to check emissions is only for the first 6 years for passenger cars, so I doubt I’ll get it after that.
I think I’ll just keep doing regular inspections.
We’ll see in two years.
However, it says that the comprehensive inspection for emission exemption is 23,000 won, so electric vehicles are good.
During the headlight inspection, I checked the light intensity and corrected the headlight height.
Afterward, I checked and it didn’t make a big difference, but it’s good to go through this process.
Afterward, I received the car’s electrical inspection checklist and the car inspection was over.
They said that the braking system was fine and the headlights were adjusted according to the regulations.
In particular, there was nothing unusual about the undercarriage, so it all passed.
Changes to the inspection period from 2025
90 days before the cutoff date 31 days after
From March 16, 2027, which is two years away, the inspection period will be 31 days after the previous 90 days.
The inspection window for 2025 will be three months prior to the inspection date, so it’s important to get your car inspected within the window. If you miss the inspection period, you will be fined.
