홈플러스 휴무일 및 영업시간 Homeplus holidays and business hours

Homeplus is a general distribution company and large discount store brand, and is one of the three largest supermarkets in Korea along with E-Mart and Lotte Mart.

Among these, it ranks second in market share. On September 4, 1997, Homeplus opened as a branch of Samsung C&T’s distribution division. Starting with the first store in Daegu with an initial capital of 300 billion won, the company is currently operating 136 hypermarkets and 17 warehouse-type discount stores as of 2023.

While other large discount stores expanded their business in the densely populated metropolitan area, Homeplus opened stores more intensively in the Yeongnam area than the metropolitan area in the early stages of its business, including in Daegu Metropolitan City.

As a result, we are able to avoid store overlap with E-Mart, which opened many stores in the metropolitan area, and we believe that the early dominance in the Yeongnam area is a factor in our success. We have been actively opening stores in the metropolitan area since the mid-2000s, and in 2008, E-Land’s Home Ever (formerly Carrefour) was acquired to further increase awareness.

Opening hours
The existing Homeplus business hours are from 10:00 to 22:00, but some stores that receive a lot of visitors even at night are extending their hours by 2 hours until 24:00. Representative locations include the Gayang branch in Seoul, the Gangseo branch in Seoul, the Ganseok branch in Incheon, and the Hanam branch in Gyeonggi Province.

Other stores are open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM (22:00) and from 11:00 PM (23:00). Please keep this in mind when using the store. Business hours are not the same for each store. So, you must search for the branch you plan to visit. You can easily find it by going to the Homeplus website and clicking on Find a Store. Go to the link below and check it out.

Closed days
Let’s learn about Homeplus’s closed days. Since the operation is closely related to the lives of people all over the country, there are times when you visit without looking for the closing days and end up in vain.

As the Distribution Industry Development Act was revised, mandatory closure days were stipulated to promote the revitalization of traditional markets and small businesses. We hope that you will not waste your time by visiting without thinking.

Normally, the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month are closed. The same applies to all large supermarkets (Ima, Lotte Mart, Costco, Traders, etc.)

On the day of the holiday, Costco is closed and all large supermarkets are announcing normal business policies.

The exact closing days for each branch are different, such as Wednesdays or Sundays.

Some stores are closed 2 or 3 days a month.

Therefore, if there is a branch you usually use, please check it on the website or app before visiting.

Closed: Second and fourth Sundays of every month
