Road Traffic Authority E-Learning Center (Traffic Safety Education Center) Introduction
The Road Traffic Authority e-Learning Center or Traffic Safety Education Center was opened in August 2006 as Children’s Transportation Nara. It developed a children’s traffic safety experience hall, animation, movie, and game zone, and was selected as a youth recommended site by the Information Communication Ethics Committee under the Ministry of Information and Communication. In November 2007, we opened cyber education for traffic safety teachers and developed contents for kindergarten and elementary school teachers.
In August 2009, we opened Traffic Safety World, produced and operated the National Police Agency, and provided experiential learning for each target, such as children’s traffic country, youth, and senior safety country. In December 2011, Cyber Traffic School was opened, and three websites were integrated: Children’s Transportation Nara, Cyber Education for Teachers, and Traffic Safety World.
In February 2016, we produced a school bus companion guardian education course for children and conducted online education for children school bus companion guardians. In January 2020, the Traffic Safety Education Center was opened, and contents for companion guardians and traffic safety teachers were developed, and open education was provided that anyone across the country could easily learn.
Let’s look at the educational programs of the Road Traffic Authority. The first is the education of children’s school bus companion guardians (leading teachers). The target of education is those who ride (lead) with children in vehicles used for going to school, and the education time is 2 hours. The training fee is free, and the completion standard is 100% progress rate and 60 points or more in the exam.
The second is the education of teachers in charge of traffic safety. The target is kindergarten elementary/middle/high school traffic safety education, the time is 2 hours and the cost is free. The completion standard is 100% progress rate and 80 points or more on the exam.
The third is open education. It is open to all citizens, and education is free. Education aims to improve traffic safety awareness by providing and distributing customized contents for each learner. The fourth is a reservation for the Children’s Traffic Safety Experience Center. It is aimed at children aged 3 to 5, and the experience time is 1 hour, and it is closed on weekends and statutory holidays. The experience is free of charge, and the experience location is the Seoul branch of the Road Traffic Authority, 242 Yangjae-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul.
