When I first got my driver’s license, I got a 2-class automatic. At that time, I thought that there would be no need to drive a manual car, and since the price was a bit cheaper to acquire 2 types, I thought that I should just quickly acquire a 2 type automatic and drive at that time when money was always short. 연습면허 발급 방법
However, as people live, I need a type 1 driver’s license, and the process of changing from type 2 to type 1 is not well understood by looking at blogs or YouTube, so I thought I should post on my blog what I learned while bumping into it. .
For reference, the 2-type automatic does not automatically change to the 1-type even if you drive without an accident for 10 years. The driver’s license that can be converted is a second-class manual license, and since most of the second-class cases are acquired automatically, I thought there would be many people in a similar situation to me. 비지니스헬퍼
Of course, if you register at an academy, receive driving training, and take the road test, it will be quick, but as a parent, the cost of the academy is burdensome, so I try to use the family opportunity to receive training and take the road test.
Thus, in this posting series, a person who has a type 2 automatic driver’s license has captured the process of reacquiring a type 1 normal (manual) driver’s license.
Driver’s license class 2 automatic to class 1 normal acquisition period (Practice license issuance at the driver’s license test center)
1. Materials: 2 types of driver’s license and 2 ID photos (For reference, I just took the photo size for ID photos.)
2. Where to apply: Driver’s license test center operated by the National Road Traffic Authority
(It would be a good idea to inquire at the Road Traffic Authority to see if you can apply at a place other than the driver’s license test center.)
3. Application process: Go to the reception desk and tell the staff in charge, “I have a type 2 automatic license, but I came here because I want to pick up a type 1 manual license.” Do this.

The cost of issuing a practice license is KRW 4,000, and the validity period of the practice license is one year from the date of issuance. If you practice driving within this one year and pass the road test, you will be issued a Class 1 regular driver’s license.
4. Physical examination: Looking at other blogs, it is said that some places do physical examinations, but in my case, a separate physical examination was not required. This may vary from person to person, so it would be nice to ask the person in charge.
5. Exemption: Since I have a type 2 automatic driver’s license, I took an exemption stamp for the department test and the functional test. What remains is the road driving test, and you can make a reservation for the road driving test right after you get your learner license issued.
6. Practice license: The practice license is not in the form of a plastic card like a driver’s license, but is attached to the application form like a receipt sticker. Here, the learner license issuance number, expiration date, name, etc. are indicated.
7. Other matters: While issuing a practice license, you can receive road driving practice guides and road driving course guides in the area. If you go to an academy, you don’t have to worry about it, but if you don’t go through an academy like me, I think you should read it carefully because you have to be familiar with the instructions and follow them.
To summarize once again, the procedure for changing from type 2 to type 1 is exempt from written and functional driving tests, and all you have to do is get a type 1 ordinary practice license and practice. And if you think you’ve done enough practice, you can book a road test and if you pass the test, you can get a Class 1 license again.
Now I have to go practice too. In the next part, I will write down what I felt while driving a manual (stick) for the first time after driving only two types of automatics for more than 10 years.
