When spring comes, the most welcome news is the cherry blossoms, right?
This year, I am already looking forward to seeing cherry blossom festivals that were suspended due to COVID-19, such as the Jinhae Gunhang Festival and the E-World Cherry Blossom Festival. Please note that we have collected only the best cherry blossom spots in Gyeongju.

For those of you who are excited and curious, we will guide you through the blooming and full blooming times of cherry blossoms in Seoul.
In 2023, Gyeongju cherry blossoms will bloom on March 27th and full bloom is expected on April 1st, so it would be a good idea to prepare to enjoy cherry blossom attractions that were difficult to enjoy to their fullest this year due to COVID-19.

The first cherry blossom spot in Gyeongju that we will introduce is Bomunjeong.
Bomunjeong boasts such beautiful scenery that it was once introduced as ‘Korea’s Secret Landscape’ on CNN. Cherry trees and maple trees are planted around the octagonal pavilion and two ponds, making it a place to enjoy the scenery in any season.
In spring, the pure white cherry blossoms that bloom around Bomunjeong provide a beautiful view, making it a popular cherry blossom spot in Gyeongju. In particular, it is popular because you can see weeping cherry blossoms with drooping flower branches like weeping willows. In fact, Bomunjeong is a beautiful place even if it is not spring. In summer, water lilies are in full bloom in the pond in front of Bomunjeong, adding to the spectacular scenery. Autumn leaves are colorful, and if you are lucky enough to see snowy scenery, Bomunjeong is a beautiful place in winter. This place is always popular because it is beautiful in any season, but the most beautiful season is probably spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. It is an even more beautiful place in spring, so if you are looking for a cherry blossom spot in Gyeongju, I recommend you visit at least once.

The second famous cherry blossom spot in Gyeongju that we will introduce is Bomun Lake.
According to the Gyeongju Bomun Tourist Complex development plan, it is a 1,652,900m² (500,000 pyeong) artificial lake created under the ruins of an old castle on Myeonghwalsan Mountain in the east of Gyeongju, and the surrounding area is well-equipped with international hotels, various entertainment facilities such as Gyeongju World, and park facilities. Bomun Lake is popular as a hiking course due to its well-maintained walking and bicycle paths.
There are flowers everywhere, but the cherry blossoms around Bomun Lake and Bulguksa Park are especially stunning. On a windy day, the flowers blow everywhere, reminiscent of falling snow, making it a popular cherry blossom spot in Gyeongju. It is more beautiful in early April when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, so it would be a good idea to keep that in mind when visiting.

The third cherry blossom spot in Gyeongju that we will introduce is the Daereungwon Stone Wall Road in Gyeongju.
It is a tomb site with 23 tombs from the Silla Dynasty, and is the center of the tombs of the Silla Dynasty, including the tomb of the 13th King Michu, Hwangnamdaechong Tomb with a huge double tomb, and Cheonmachong Tomb, where you can tour the inside of the tomb.
It is so beautiful that in spring, pictures of cherry blossoms with this place in the background are plastered all over social media. The photo zone is also introduced separately, so it is the most famous place among the cherry blossom spots in Gyeongju for taking pictures of your life, so it would be a good idea to refer to it and see it.

The fourth famous cherry blossom spot in Gyeongju that we will introduce is Woljeonggyo Bridge.
This bridge was built during the Unified Silla period in Gyo-dong, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It was lost during the Joseon Dynasty and was restored as the largest wooden bridge in Korea in April 2018. It is a bridge from the Unified Silla period located at 163-1 Gyo-dong, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The restoration was completed in April 2018 after historical research on the fact that it was lost during the Joseon Dynasty. According to the Samguk Sagi, it was built in the 19th year of King Gyeongdeok (760) during the Unified Silla period. ), and is said to have played a role in connecting Wolseong and Namsan in Gyeongju.
It is beautiful during the day, but it is also a beautiful cherry blossom spot in Gyeongju at night, where you can see the night view along with the cherry blossoms.
