The difference between Kakao Pay and Kakao Pay Points is simple.

Kakao Pay can be cashed out, but Kakao Pay Points cannot be cashed out.

It can be used almost anywhere, so you can just keep it and pay later by selecting it at the payment window that supports Kakao Pay and paying with Kakao Pay points.
I wanted to cash out quickly, so I decided to purchase a Shinsegae gift certificate.

1) Use Kakao Pay Points like cash at any point of use (validity period: 60 months)
2) Make Kakao Gift > Purchase Happy Money or Culture Land cultural gift certificate > Convert to Payco Points on Payco App (8% commission) > Refund
3) Gift Kakao > Purchase Shinsegae gift certificate > Exchange gift certificate at E-Mart kiosk > Use

▶ How to purchase Shinsegae gift certificates with Kakao Pay points
KakaoTalk app > More (3 dots at the bottom) > Click on Gift
Click Search (magnifying glass shape) > Search for ‘Shinsegae Gift Certificate’
Check the list of Shinsegae gift certificates and purchase a gift certificate with Kakao Pay points according to the amount you have.
When you purchase a gift certificate, you will receive a Shinsegae gift certificate in the gift box.
Click to save it as a gifticon image, and then go to E-Mart to exchange it for a gift certificate.
If you want to convert it into real cash after converting it into a gift certificate, you can purchase the gift certificate or trade it at Joongongara, etc. for a small fee and the final cash amount is completed.
Shinsegae gift certificates are great to give as gifts later, and you will definitely need to use them someday.
I tend to save it up and keep it to use as extra money later when I need it.
