여권사진 가격 Passport application and issuance review – issuance period and cost (fee), passport photo cost

여권사진 가격Rather than using it right away, I applied in advance because I thought I might have to go overseas at least once this year as the coronavirus pandemic is coming to an end.

First, you need to take a passport photo, right?

Passport photos have stricter restrictions than other photos. You must not wear a hat and your bangs must not cover your eyebrows.

It seems that sometimes people take pictures using self-portrait machines in subway stations, but I recommend that only people who are really good at it do it.

If you go to the district office and the photo is rejected because it does not meet the standards, it would be a waste of time and money.

There is usually at least one photo studio (studio) near the district office. I took pictures at a place called One Studio, located in the building to the left of Gangseo-gu Office in Seoul.

photo studio entrance

Instead of entering through the main door of the building, you can enter directly from the road to the left of the district office.

If there is no one waiting, printing can be done in about 5 minutes. The interior has an old-fashioned feel. Still, all you have to do is take good pictures quickly, right?

Inside the photo studio

The cost is 20,000 won. You will receive about 5 photos, and if you enter your email address, they will also send you the original files.

Simple Photoshop will do it. Personally, I wasn’t very satisfied with my photos.

It was the end of the year when I visited the district office to get my passport issued. There were a lot of people.

Entrance to Gangseo-gu Office

I don’t think the beginning of the year will be much different. It says to fill out an application and then take a waiting ticket, but if there are a lot of people, just take a waiting ticket first.

90% of the people sitting are waiting to apply for passports.

When I got my ticket, there were 70 people waiting, and I waited for about 2 hours. According to the guide, there is less waiting time if you come in the morning, so I recommend visiting at 9 am.

There are 5 people working at the passport counter, and 1-2 people come to the other counters every 30 minutes to issue certificates or documents.

If passports were issued at all counters, the wait would be greatly reduced, but since passport verification is important and it is an international identification card, it seems unavoidable.

Still, I get angry if I wait for a long time. It’s better to go early.

The cost of issuing a passport is 50,000 won for a 10-year passport with 26 pages. The basic fee for minors and those who have not completed military service is 30,000 won to 42,000 won depending on age.

Passport issuance cost

Usually, you can receive your application in about a week.

You can pick it up in person or pay 5,500 won to have it delivered to your home or workplace, but you must pick it up yourself.

This concludes the summary of the passport issuance process and costs.
