How to restore KakaoTalk backup
When you back up from KakaoTalk, the backed up file is not downloaded to your computer or cell phone, but is stored in KakaoTalk for 2 weeks. The backup file must be registered in KakaoTalk in order to restore it when installing KakaoTalk on a new computer. After pressing the gear button on the left, click the “Settings” menu and run “Backup conversations” in “Chat.” Since messages are very sensitive to personal information, a password will be entered before backing up. Tap the three-dot “More” button at the bottom of the KakaoTalk app on your phone and select the gear button. Select “Chat” and run “Conversation Backup”. If you do not see “Conversation Backup” as shown in the picture above but “Talk Drawer Plus”, close it with the “X” button in the upper right corner.
