The pet funeral director certification is currently classified as a private certification, and anyone can apply for the certification from the Korea Pet Care Association, regardless of gender or experience, as long as they are 18 years of age or older and have an education level or higher.

Companion animal funeral director exam subjects
There is a first written exam and a second practical exam. There is a written exam in three subjects: Introduction to Companion Animal Funeral Science, Public Health and Hygiene Management, and Companion Animal Funeral Administration, as well as three subjects in funeral procedure practice, vector plant management, and pet loss. It is divided into a practical test.
Pet funeral directors can obtain certification through theoretical and practical training at related educational institutions. A pet funeral director with an annual salary of 80 million won was introduced through a broadcast program, and according to recent data, the top 25% have an annual salary of 38.53 million won. Since salary can vary depending on the workplace and the individual’s capabilities and experience, there may be opportunities for high income.
