How to check KT penalty
You can easily check it by using the smartphone app ‘My Katy’. KT 위약금 조회

If you have purchased a KT carrier device, there is no need to install it separately, so you can use it as it is installed as a basic app.
(In the case of iPhone, it is not installed, so you can download it through the ‘App Store’.)

If you touch the blue box at the top left, you can see the entire menu as shown below.
Among them, touch the down arrow button at the right end of ‘Join/Use’ in the ‘My’ menu on the left to open the additional menu.

You can also check ‘Insurance Information’ further down. In the example above, insurance is not insured.
If you look at ‘Amortization Information’, you can check the ‘Model Name’ and ‘Residual Installment Information’ of the device you purchased.
The upper part is the current installment principal (installment payment + installment interest), and the lower part is the number of installment months.
The left side shows the number of current installment months / The right side shows the number of contracted installment months.
Through this, I can check how many months I have purchased in installments and how many months are left.

In addition, you can check detailed information such as program name, rate plan name, registration date, expected expiration date (end date), and elapsed period.
However, it must have been frustrating because it only said ‘5G sponsor’ and did not give details about what kind of discount it was.

In this way, you can check that the contents of the discount that I received are publicly disclosed subsidies through the part marked ‘Status of subsidy’ at the bottom.
The amount of the ‘public subsidy (terminal discount)’ part displays the amount of the public subsidy that I received at the time of purchase,
In the ‘Disclosure Support Penalty’ section below, the actual amount of the penalty to be paid as of the time of inquiry is indicated.
In the case of the above example, the penalty did not decrease because the elapsed period was only 167 days, but as the 181 days passed, the penalty gradually decreased.
And if the ‘additional subsidy’ section below that shows the amount instead of 0 won, it means that you have received an additional subsidy.
Additional subsidies are also counted as penalties.
(As the author has mentioned before, you can get a discount without being caught as a penalty if you ask for an additional discount on the device by the amount without adding an additional subsidy.)

You can check the ‘rate discount and refund’ section, which is displayed when you have received the optional contract discount.
In the above example, all amounts are displayed as 0 won because the discount for the optional contract cannot be received because the public subsidy discount has been received.
