The judgment or judgment online viewing system is a system where you can search and view judgments of civil, administrative, patent, and criminal cases using the ‘Judgment Online Viewing’ service on the court’s internet homepage. Of course, any citizen of the Republic of Korea can use this service.

You can view judgments of criminal cases finalized after January 1, 2013 and judgments of civil, administrative, and patent cases finalized after January 1, 2015 or pronounced after January 1, 2023 through a random word search. In order to protect the personal information of the parties involved in the case, personal information such as name, resident registration number, and address written in the judgment are disclosed in anonymized form.
A fee of 1,000 won per case is charged when viewing the judgment.
How to search and view the judgment

The first thing you need to do when accessing the Supreme Court My Case Search site is to authenticate your real name with your resident registration number or mobile phone. It may be a bit inconvenient, but it would be inconvenient if other people could see your case.

Next, enter the case number, etc., make payment, and click ‘View’ to print. The judgment provided for viewing has names, resident registration numbers, and addresses, etc. confidentially processed to protect the personal information of the parties involved in the lawsuit, and the court refers to this as anonymized processing.

Reasons for restriction
・Cases where disclosure of arguments is prohibited and there is concern that it may harm national security, public order, or good customs
・Cases where there is concern that disclosure of the judgment may significantly interfere with the social life of the person related to the case. However, this is limited to cases where a party to the lawsuit requests it
・If a trade secret held by a party to the case (referring to a trade secret as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 2 of the Act on Prevention of Unfair Competition and Protection of Trade Secrets) is written down. However, this is limited to cases where a party to the lawsuit requests it
・If the trial is conducted in private
・If a case is concerning a juvenile as defined in Article 2 of the Juvenile Act
・If there is concern that it may facilitate the destruction of evidence or escape of an accomplice, etc. or have a significant impact on the trial of the related case
・If there is a clear concern that it may significantly harm national security
・If there is concern that it may significantly harm the honor or privacy of a party to the case, or the safety of life/body, or peace of life. However, this is limited to cases where a party to the lawsuit requests it
・If there is concern that the trade secret (referring to a trade secret as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 2 of the Act on Prevention of Unfair Competition and Protection of Trade Secrets) of a party to the case may significantly be infringed. However, limited to cases where there is an application by a party to the lawsuit

1. Cancellation of a decision to restrict inspection of civil judgments, etc.
A third party who has proven an interest in a decision to restrict inspection and copying of a judgment on the grounds that the reason for the restriction decision does not exist or has been extinguished may apply for cancellation of a decision to restrict inspection, etc.

2. Application for cancellation or change of refusal to view criminal judgments, etc.
Regarding criminal judgments with restricted viewing and copying, a litigation party or an interested party may request to view and copy the judgment, etc. to the court clerk of the court that pronounced the judgment after the final judgment has been finalized by providing a legitimate reason. If the court clerk refuses the application, the court clerk may request cancellation or change of the decision to the court to which the court clerk belongs.
