This is a basic requirement, and it is a step to determine your current employment status. The following people can get a loan.
If you meet the above qualifications, you must verify your income next. Income requirements must be 80% or less of household median income. The 80% median income standard according to household composition can be found in the table below. If it is less than that amount, you can get a loan.
If your household consists of five or more people, you can additionally check the median income standard on the e-National Index website by clicking the button below.
The Vocational Training Living Expenses Loan is a system that provides loans only to those who are undergoing specific vocational training. Therefore, you can only apply if you have already been issued a Tomorrow Learning Card. If you do not have a Tomorrow Learning Card, please apply in advance as it takes approximately 3 weeks to receive it after issuance.
It is recognized only if the training time totals more than 140 hours, and it is not possible to calculate the time by adding up multiple training hours. So, for those who have not yet taken part in training, you will need to find a training course of at least 140 hours to be able to avail the loan.
The fastest way to find training is through HRD-net. After explaining all the application conditions, I will also tell you how to quickly find training of 140 hours or more on HRD-net at the end of the article.
Vocational training is up to you, whatever training you choose. If possible, it is best to choose vocational training that will be helpful in the future. Since you will need to invest a lot of time (140 hours), if you choose training that does not suit your interests, there is a higher chance of giving up. If you give up mid-term, support payment will be stopped.
Therefore, it is recommended that you choose your training carefully and inquire in advance if you have any questions about the training by calling or visiting HRD-net or the Employment Welfare Plus Center.
You can take various subjects with the Tomorrow Learning Card. If you are using the National Employment Support System, you do not need to pay out-of-pocket or you can take the course very cheaply, so if you have not yet applied for the National Employment Support System, be sure to check the terms and conditions of the National Employment Support System.
Lastly, you must have at least 15 training days left per month at the time of application. For example, if you have less than 15 days left, you will need to apply for the next training and then apply for the loan the following month. If you are applying for new job training, you do not need to worry about this.
And after the loan is issued, the reasons for ineligibility are verified every month. Therefore, if a reason for ineligibility arises, you must notify the Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service. If there are no changes, the loan will automatically be issued on the 15th of every month from the second month onwards.
It is supported with an ultra-low interest rate of 1% per year, and the guarantee fee is approximately 1% per year. The loan will be issued after the guarantee fee is deducted in advance.
The repayment method is equal monthly installments, and the applicant can select one of the three repayment periods below.
Early repayment is also possible, and fees are waived for early repayment. However, the grace period and repayment period cannot be changed after the initial selection, so please choose carefully. The loan payment date for vocational training and living expenses is the 15th of every month.
